BUILDING VOCABULARIES WITH PLAYING A LITTLE BALL
Introduction
At this time, there is difficult enough to build vocabularies among the students, especially, for the beginner learner. That is because the students feel lazy to memorize new vocabularies by themselves. Teacher must wake them up to have more desire of vocabularies memorizing. Here we will try to invite their desire to memorize the vocabularies with playing which I call “building vocabularies with a little ball”.
Requirement
1. Students have been given the material and its vocabularies (min. 4 kind’s vocabularies about). Example: profession, fruits, animal, verb, adjective etc.)
2. Students are in the maximal condition.
3. There is a small ball as a media.
4. There is a paper and a pen to give the students mark.
5. Teacher must be active to invite the student’s desire.
Role playing
1. Students are given the time about five until ten minutes to rememorize the vocabularies which have been given to them to encourage and check their readiness.
2. Student’s sitting form is made like a circle and the teacher’s position is in the centre of that circle.
3. for the first turn, teacher who are sitting in the centre of the student’s circle throw the ball to one of the students and give an instruction about kind vocabularies which must he/she spell about.
4. Student who has been given the ball by his/her teacher spells the vocabularies like the teacher’s instruction.
5. After that student do his/her duty to spell those vocabularies, he/she throw that ball to his/her other friend in that circle and give the instruction like his/her teacher.
6. Student who is given the ball spells the vocabularies like his/her friend’s instruction.
7. This playing to be continued until the teacher gets their mark.
